* 25 years Tesshinkan association and Okinawa Traditional Kobudō World Tournament 2024 *

The European group gathered 21 members from Germany and Russia that had a busy schedule on the 12 days on their Okinawa stay. 

Already on the first day the group went for sightseeing: the kings palace Shurijo-Castle, the mausoleum of the king Tama-Udun, the stone street Ichidatami-Dori as well as some shrines were visited. 

After that followed 3 days Tesshinkan seminar lead by Tamayose Tetsushi Kaichō and Tamayose Hidemi Sensei in the Karate Kaikan. In total 51 participants from Canada, USA, Germany and Russia practiced daily from 9 am to 5 pm the basics and the technical aspects of Tesshinkan. Also, 3 new kata were practised: Kongo-no-Kun, Jigen-no-Sai und Yara-Guwa-no-Tunfā. 

On Tuesday, Heike Prophet and Katrin Zoche tested for the 1st Dan. With the committee consisting of the Tesshinkan president Tamayose Tetsushi as well as the Shibu-Chō of Canada (Mac Newton), USA (Brian Ash) and Europe (Frank Pelny), both passed their test with excellent performances. 

On August 3rd and 4th, the 3rd Kobudō Wold Tournament of the „Okinawa Ken Kobudō Renmei“ took place as well in the Karate Kaikan. 20 Tesshinkan participants competed for medals with participants from north-, middle- and South America , Europe, Asia and of course Japan and Okinawa. The Tesshinkan participants could win the following medals:

2nd place           Stefanie Dahlke (GER) – Bō female Adult II

2nd place           Frank Pelny (GER) – Sai male Senior

2nd place           Brian Ash  (USA) – Bō male Senior

3rd place            Senna Tamayose (OKI) – Sai male 12 – 14 years

3rd place            Stefanie Dahlke (GER) – Sai female Adult II

3rd place            Pavel Dolgachev (RUS) – Bō male Adult II

The last days on Okinawa were spend with sightseeing, shopping and also for swimming at 35 degrees outside temperature. At night the group got insights in the Okinawan cooking culture when visiting restaurants.

This time, the trip to and from Okinawa was a little bit difficult, but everything went well in the end.
