6th International Seminar in Tomsk (Russia)

From October 26th to 28th 2012 the Gôjû-Ryû federation of Tomsk had the 6th international Seminar with Frank Pelny Sensei, technical director of Tesshinkan in Europe and president of SaCO, taken place. Subsequently the main topics of the seminar were Ryûkyû Kobudô Tesshinkan and practical self-defence.
74 participants from 6 cities and 8 dôjô in Siberia had arrived to prove that organizer Vyacheslav Rogozin Sensei provided a great job once again.
The first and last training covered self-defence. Parrying and counter combinations were scheduled as well as escapes from holds and defences from the ground.
Except for that the entire seminar focused on Ryûkyû Kobudô Tesshinkan. On Friday BÔ was scheduled and on Saturday UKE-KUMITE with NUNCHAKU and TEKKÔ were the main topics.
The examinations were set for Sunday morning. An amazing number of 33 participants could achieve a new Tesshinkan rank (4x6th, 16x5th, 5x4th, 1x3rd, 5x2nd, 2x1st KYÛ). SaCO examination were also held and passed successfully (1x5.B, 1x5.A, 1x4.B).
On Sunday afternoon the traditional Siberia Kobudô Cup took place. There were five catgories one had the chance to compete in. As usually those were KATA and KUMITE.
At the end of this event Rogozin Sensei gave two typically Russian copies of Frank Pelny himself to the actual Pelny Sensei. Those who had the chance to participate, know what this is about ;) .
After the mandatory group photo had been shot, the participants generously used the opportunity to have been taken a photo of, together with Sensei Pelny or to get an autograph.
To put things in a nutshell: a successful seminar - a perfectly organized - a motivated participants: We shall meet again on the last weekend of October in 2013!
